Cycle of Care

Inpatient Care
Our inpatient program provides 24-hour medical and nursing management and uses a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to establish long- and short-term goals specific to each child/adolescent and his or her diagnosis. Depending on the child’s/adolescent’s needs, he or she may receive treatment and care from several different types of therapists and clinicians under the direction of a physiatrist.

Typically, inpatient therapy consists of three to six hours of therapy per day during the week.

Day Hospital Care
The day hospital program is an ambulatory program for patients who do not require the 24-hour medical management of an inpatient program, but who still need intensive, multiple therapies each day. At the end of each day, children/adolescents return home where they are challenged to integrate their newly learned skills into their home setting.

Outpatient Care
Outpatient programs at Weisman Children’s have the same holistic, interdisciplinary approach to care as our inpatient programs. In addition to providing physical, occupational, speech/language, and dysphagia therapy, we offer specialized services such as sensory integration. Our programs are developed in direct response to the needs of South Jersey families.

Weisman Children’s offer the high quality, leading edge rehabilitation services provided at a number of convenient satellite locations throughout South Jersey.

Medical Day Care
Medical day care centers are for children ages birth through five who are medically fragile and require skilled nursing care.  Our centers are fully equipped and staffed to accommodate children who require the support of ventilators, tracheostomies, oxygen, feeding tubes, or other specialized medical needs.
